Privacy Policy

These privacy policies can be full of misleading or needlessly complex language. I (Chadwick) greatly value users of our app (IconCal) and am personally invested in protecting our user's privacy to the best of my ability. If you (yes, you!) have any questions needing clarification, or regarding this privacy policy, please contact us at support@iconcal.com.

What Happens To Information Entered Into IconCal

No data entered by the user into IconCal is directly collected by, nor directly transmitted to us (Goodwicket) via IconCal. All of that data is stored locally. This data includes the user's email address for their Apple and/or Google ID only if they chose to login to their account using those methods. This is for the purpose of the user's own identification of which account they are currently logged in with, and is also not collected by us. Their password is neither collected by us, nor is it stored locally in the app. That part of the login is handled by Apple and Google's login API.

IconCal includes the optional feature for the user to sync their calendar event data to either Apple or Google's calendar services via the user's existing Apple or Google accounts. Once this option is turned on, all event data may be sent to/from, and shared with, Apple or Google's cloud services. This would only contain data entered exclusively by the user and may include: event title, date, time, duration, time zone, location, alert time, notes, and icon file names.

If those syncing features are turned on, IconCal may also sync any custom-made user icons to either iCloud Drive (if using an Apple ID login), or Google Drive (via Google Account login) for the purpose of backing them up and syncing them between IconCal installs. We have no control over what Apple, Google, or the user does with this data once it is synced to these services. I strongly recommend the user familiarizes themselves with the respective privacy policies of those services before considering using these features (linked at the bottom of this policy*).

Information We Actually Collect, & Why

The one exception to information we may exclusively collect is IconCal crash data sent to us by either Apple or Google. What is sent to us is dependent on the device the user has installed IconCal, and also on Apple or Google's respective discretion. Again, please refer to these companies' privacy policies regarding the data they may share with developers. We may request this crash data if the user has opted in to share this data with either Apple or Google strictly for the purpose of improving usability of the app.

We have NO interest in collecting anything other than anonymous data for the purpose of fixing bugs, bettering user experience for the app, and will continue to make efforts to protect our user's privacy.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. These changes will be reflected in this privacy policy. We will strive to make these plain and understandable.

Apple and Google's privacy policies may also change. These may be detailed on their respective sites:
